CARINA

Overview

This is a home built around the family who live in it — layered with rich materials, considered details and moments of surprise at every turn. From a striking material palette to unexpected pockets of delight, no two corners feel the same. It’s architecture with real personality: a stunning, one-of-a-kind family home.

Project Highlights

  • PAC Process collaboration with PentArchi
  • Burnished concrete underfoot, throughout — Burnished concrete floors run seamlessly across multiple levels of the home, extending to the superbly crafted entry steps and fireplace, creating a warm, tactile continuity from the moment you arrive.
  • Timber poles anchor the interior — Exposed feature timber poles run through the home’s interior framing, rising up to define the sweeping landing to the bedrooms — a striking structural gesture that doubles as a piece of architecture in its own right.
  • Joinery as sculpture on the stair — Rich timber-grain joinery is integrated directly into the interior stairs, turning everyday movement through the home into an experience of considered craftsmanship.
  • Balustrades with a story to tell — Timber balustrades connect hardwood top rails to the home’s exposed timber poles, completed with blue gum balusters personally sourced and milled by the clients — a detail as personal as it is beautiful.
  • Italian flair, close to home — Stunning Oltremateria surfaces grace the kitchen bench and wet areas, imported from Italy for a material richness and depth that anchors the home’s most-used spaces.
  • Cladding with character — Rustic Weathertex cladding and zinculume sheets wraps the home’s exterior, bringing texture and warmth to the façade while grounding the architecture in a natural, honest material palette.
  • Living, extended outdoors — Honed concrete carries the living spaces outside, with timber bi-fold doors opening the home fully to the outdoors — blurring the line between inside and out for effortless indoor-outdoor living.
  • A fireplace at the heart of it all — A two-way fireplace sits at the very centre of the home, sharing its warmth and glow between living spaces and becoming a natural gathering point for the family.
